Lawn Spraying Service in St. Cloud, MN Area

If you’re looking for a lawn spraying service in Sartell, St. Joseph, St. Cloud, or surrounding areas that actually holds up through the season, this is it. Our lawn treatments are built around one simple idea: great lawns start with better soil. That’s why our program is not “spray the weeds, feed the grass, and hope for the best.” We run a 5-application fertilization & weed control program designed to build turf density, strengthen roots, and improve the soil underneath—so your lawn becomes naturally more weed-resistant over time.

Here’s what makes our Sartell lawn care service different: every visit is a different blend. We don’t apply the same mix five times. Each treatment is selected from a lineup of 15 different nutrients, weed control products, soil conditioners, and soil enhancers used throughout the season. That allows us to hit weeds in more than one way (prevention + control), while also supporting root development and soil performance—without pushing fast, wild growth or burning your grass.

What’s Included in Our Lawn Treatments

Season-timed lawn treatments (not the same thing every visit)

Our program changes through the season because your lawn changes through the season. Each application is built around what your turf needs at that time of year—so it’s not a “one product, five times” plan. Treatments may include fertilizer, iron, potassium, pre-emergent weed control, post-emergent weed control, and soil enhancers. The goal is steady improvement that lasts, not a quick green-up that fades.

5 applications per season (spring through fall)

You get 5 treatments per year, spaced out to match real lawn timing in Central Minnesota:

  • First Application: End of April

  • Second Application: Early May

  • Third Application: Mid-July

  • Fourth Application: Mid-August

  • Fifth Application: Late September

This schedule lets us prevent weeds early, handle the main weed pressure as it shows up, support your lawn through summer stress, and finish the season strong going into winter.

Weeds handled in more than one way

Most people only think “weed control = kill what I see.” We do that, but we also work to stop weeds before they ever show up. That means a combination of:

  • Pre-emergent weed control for crabgrass and broadleaf weeds

  • Post-emergent weed control for crabgrass, broadleaf weeds, and tougher problem weeds

So you’re not stuck in the cycle of “it looked good for a week… then weeds came right back.”

Soil + root support (so the lawn can actually improve)

A great lawn isn’t just about feeding the grass—it’s about helping the soil support thicker turf and stronger roots. Throughout the season, we may include soil and root support like:

  • Microbial bio stimulant for root and soil health

  • Humic acid to boost nutrient uptake and soil quality

  • Carbon-based amendment for soil and microbe health

This is the “more than Weed & Feed” part—building the base so your lawn gets better over time, not just temporarily greener.

Balanced nutrition (steady feeding + stronger summer performance)

We use a blend of nutrients across the season to support color, growth, and stress tolerance—without forcing crazy growth:

  • Slow-release nitrogen for sustained feeding

  • Chelated iron for improved color

  • Liquid potassium and sulfur for stress tolerance

What you should expect

Most customers notice improvements in color and thickness as the program progresses, with fewer repeat weeds as turf density builds. Like any professional lawn program, results depend on basic homeowner habits too—especially consistent watering during dry stretches and proper mowing height. We’ll help guide you on that so your lawn doesn’t fight the program.

Why Our Liquid Lawn Spraying Service Is More Precise

We run a liquid lawn spraying service (not a granular “broadcast spreader” approach) because it gives you better control and a cleaner property. Liquid applications let us be more precise with where the treatment goes—so we can keep it off your driveway, sidewalks, flower beds, landscaping, and other non-target areas. That means less mess, less waste, and a more professional finish around your home. It also helps with more even coverage across the turf and better nutrient absorption, since the product is distributed consistently and starts working without relying on granules breaking down unevenly.

Simple Seasonal Pricing (Not “Per Application” Guesswork)

Our program is priced as a season plan, paid in full or monthly. We don’t charge per application because each visit is intentionally different. If we billed per visit, the price would swing up and down all season—because the mix, timing, and goals of each application change. Instead, we total the full season cost and make it simple: one seasonal price, split into monthly payments if you want. No surprise add-ons, no “this visit costs more” confusion, and no pressure to skip important steps just to keep a single application cheap.

The Right Equipment for Your Lawn (So Nothing Gets Missed)

Coverage matters. That’s why we use different equipment based on your lawn size and layout. For large properties, we use a ride-on applicator (similar to a stand-on mower) to deliver consistent coverage efficiently. For smaller lawns—or tight areas around landscaping, beds, and edges—we use backpack sprayers and hose-based setups so we can dial in accuracy and hit the details without overspray. The goal is simple: proper coverage everywhere, clean application lines, and no missed strips.

A 5-application program

What to Expect From Our Lawn Treatment Service

1st Application: Spring Boost + Pre-Emergent Protection (April)

We start with a pre-emergent to stop weeds before they come up. We also apply a microbial aerator to loosen winter compaction and help the soil start working again, plus enzymes to stimulate microbial activity. You’ll get a light fertilizer application to support early growth, and if weeds are already showing, we’ll include post-emergent weed control to take care of what’s sprouting early.

1

2nd & 3rd Applications: Weed Control, Growth, & Root Support (Early May + June)

This step covers two separate visits that work together. We focus on broadleaf weed control—especially dandelions and other leafy weeds—while they’re small, before they seed and spread. We also apply a balanced mix of nutrients to support thick, steady growth: slow-release nitrogen (to reduce burn risk and avoid crazy growth), plus potassium, magnesium, sulfur, iron, and humic acid to support root and leaf development. Our slow-release feeding works over roughly 12–14 weeks, with overlapping timing to keep growth consistent instead of spiking.

2

4th Application: Drought Care + Summer Stress Support (August)

August is when lawns get stressed—especially if you don’t irrigate. We apply a heavier set of nutrients aimed at helping the lawn recover from drought and handle remaining heat. This visit is built to help the soil and roots hold moisture longer, so the lawn does better between rains. Fertilizer stays light here—enough to support recovery without pushing fast growth during the hottest stretch.

3

5th Application: Fall Growth + Winter Prep (September)

In fall, we focus on leafy weed control to break weeds down as temperatures cool and help prevent them from overwintering into spring. We also apply a solid round of nutrients to keep the lawn strong through fall growth, so it goes into winter healthier and comes back better next spring.

FAQs

Fertilization & Weed Control FAQs

Your top questions answered by the Groundsman team.

  • How many lawn treatments do you do per season?

We do 5 applications per season, spaced from spring through fall. Each visit is timed for what lawns need at that point in the year—so you’re not getting the same treatment repeated all season. When are the 5 applications? Typical timing looks like this (weather can shift dates slightly): End of April Early May Mid-July Mid-August Late September

  • What do you apply during the season?

It varies by time of year. Your treatments may include fertilizer, iron, potassium, pre-emergent weed control, post-emergent weed control, and soil enhancers. The key is that it’s not a one-size-fits-all visit—each application is built for what your lawn needs at that time.

  • Do you treat crabgrass?

Yes — but crabgrass is tricky because by the time you see it, it’s already established. The best control is prevention, which is why we apply a spring pre-emergent to stop crabgrass before it germinates. If crabgrass breaks through (or you start after it’s already growing), we can use post-emergent control, but it’s harder as crabgrass matures. The biggest long-term fix is a thicker lawn, because dense turf leaves less open soil for crabgrass to take over.

  • Is your service safe for pets and children?

Yes. We as to keep all people and pets off the treated lawn areas during the application. Then, wait until after the lawn has been watered in and has dried completely. After that it’s safe for kids and pets to use normally.

  • How soon will I see results after the treatment?

In most cases, about 2 weeks after a visit you’ll notice changes—especially better color and weeds starting to decline (weather can speed that up or slow it down). You’ll see progress during year one, but the biggest change is in year two: we typically get much better weed control because the lawn is thicker, the program timing is established, and fewer weeds are able to keep coming back.

  • What if I am not satisfied with the results?

Tell us—plain and simple. If you’re not happy with how your lawn is responding, we’ll look at what’s going on and adjust the plan. Sometimes it’s timing, weather, heavy weed pressure, or watering/mowing habits—either way, we’ll walk you through what to expect next and what we can do to improve it. Because this is a season-long program, results build over time. If something isn’t trending the right direction, we don’t ignore it—we address it.

  • What do I need to do on my end for the best results?

Two things matter most: Water during dry stretches (especially after treatments and during summer stress) Mow properly (don’t scalp; keep mowing consistent) If those are dialed in, your results improve faster and last longer.
