Backyard Under-Deck Landscaping Transformation

We recently wrapped up a landscaping project in Sartell where we were tasked with transforming a previously underutilized space beneath a deck. Though another contractor had previously laid the concrete edging, we eagerly stepped in to complete the makeover. Our mission was to create a clean, eye-catching area that blended harmoniously with the surrounding landscape.

Our process began by removing the existing sod, a necessary step to ensure a flat and uniform surface that would provide a lasting effect. With the sod carefully dug out, we moved forward by tightly installing landscape fabric. This fabric acts as a barrier, preventing weed growth while still allowing water to seep through and nourish the soil beneath. Its placement tight to the concrete edges was key for a seamless finish.

Next, we selected river rock to cover the newly prepared area. Choosing the river rock wasn’t just for aesthetic purposes; its durability makes it an excellent choice for coping with challenging weather conditions while offering a neat, low-maintenance solution. The river rock was meticulously distributed over the landscape fabric, providing a balanced and polished look that matched with other elements in the yard.

Working efficiently, our team completed this under-deck transformation in a few hours. The end result speaks volumes – a tidy, functional space that elegantly matches the rest of the property.
